BeatBearing

Tangible Rhythm Sequencer

What is the BeatBearing?

The BeatBearing is a new instrument that allows you to create rhythms by arranging ball bearings on a grid. Although simple, this allows for an engaging and intuitive musical experience. The BeatBearing is being developed by Peter Bennett as part of his PhD research in the Sonic Arts Research Centre, Queens University Belfast. The BeatBearing is an ongoing sketch aiding the design of new tangible interfaces for musical instruments. The BeatBearing (shown below) has been made available for you to make yourself.
